Node authentication
Systems within a IHE XDS environment communicate with eachother through TLS secured connections. These connections require both client and server to supply their public certificate and both sides need to accept the certificate of the other party before the connection can be established. See Certificates for more information on how to supply your public certificate to Brusafe+.
User authentication
User authentication is done through the Brusafe+ portal, here a user can register himself to use the Brusafe+ Platform. After logging in with their eID they can setup a username / password and a two factor method (like SMS) for authentication. After setting their account they will be able to logon to the system using their username / password and two factor method.
The identity of the user is sent to the Brusafe+ environment in the SAML assertion as described in the XUA profile from IHE.
