The IHE XDS environment for Brusafe+ has been set up using the OID plan set out on this page.
Home Community ID
A community ( Brusafe+) is identifiable by a globally unique id called the homeCommunityId. The following information is included in the IHE XCA profile to define the use of the homeCommunityId.
The homeCommunityId is a globally unique identifier for a community used to assist in subsequent requests for locating the data held by that community. homeCommunityId is structured as an OID limited to 64 characters and specified in URI syntax, for example the homeCommunityId of Brusafe+ 1.3.6.1.4.1.48336.1 would be formatted as urn:oid:1.3.6.1.4.1.48336.1.
It is returned within the response to Cross Gateway Query to indicate the association of a response element with a community. It is specified as the ebRIM home attribute within the relevant response elements. Document Consumers process the value in the response as an opaque unique identifier.
It is used by Initiating Gateways to direct requests to the community where the data originated.
For the Brusafe+ Environment the following homeCommunityId has been used: 1.3.6.1.4.1.48336.1 This is the same for Test, QA and production environments.
Assigning Authorities
The assigning authority identifies the "domain" over which the ID Number represents a unique entity. In case of XDS this is usually the PatientID.
The Brusafe+ environment has been set up to use the UZ Leuven as its assigning authority for Rijksregisternummers. This will make it easier to exchange information with their IHE XDS environment in the future.
The OID for Rijksregisternummer as UZ Leuven has defined it is: 1.3.6.1.4.1.21297.100.1.1
In XDS specification, ISO Object Identifiers must be used as UniversalID. Therefore the format of the patientID would be: IDNumber^^^&1.3.6.1.4.1.21297.100.1.1&ISO
For local patientID's Brusafe+ will use the local assigning authority: 1.3.6.1.4.1.48336.1.1.1 Or as formatted string: IDNumber^^^&1.3.6.1.4.1.48336.1.1.1&ISO

Within an IHE XDS environment each component has its own unique OID with which it identifies itself in audit logging etc.
